SoiLite Installation Guide

The SoiLite is available in two configurations:

SoiLite i4 Model – attaches directly to the rear of the LW Scientific i4 microscope.

SoiLite Desk Model – sits on the lab bench and connects via a flexible gooseneck to any model microscope.

Both models use the same EasyGrip attachment system to connect the ring light illuminator to microscope objectives.

Setup Instructions - i4 Rear-Mount Controller

Using a screwdriver, remove the two existing screws from the rear of the microscope body.

Install the SoiLite rear-mount controller using the longer screws that were included with the controller. When installing screws into the rear of the i4, ensure they are kept level and horizontal. Avoid inserting them at an angle to ensure proper thread alignment. Tighten securely, but do not overtighten.

Install the gooseneck onto the controller, ensuring to align the tab into the groove, then tighten the ring nut securely.

Plug the 12vDC power adapter into the controller.

Turn the unit on by turning the dimmer knob to the right. Increase the brightness as needed.

Setup Instructions - Desk Controller

Install the gooseneck onto the controller, ensuring to align the tab into the groove, then tighten the ring nut securely.

Plug the 12vDC power adapter into the controller.

Turn the unit on by turning the dimmer knob to the right. Increase the brightness as needed.

Installing the SoiLite

The SoiLite EasyGrip allows the illuminator to attach directly to microscope objectives.

Lower the stage slightly and rotate the desired objective to the side.

Hold the SoiLite by the blue EasyGrip lever. Press the lever to open the clamp.

Position the SoiLite around the chosen objective (10x, 40x, etc.). Release the EasyGrip to secure it.

Rotate the objective with SoiLite back into position above the slide.

Position the SoiLite higher or lower on the objective for the desired lighting effect.
